The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Kumasi (KNUST), will host a special Inter-College Quiz Competition on Monday, 20 July 2026, as part of activities commemorating the University's 75th Anniversary.

The competition, scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Great Hall, will bring together students from KNUST's six colleges in a contest designed to celebrate the University's history, Ghana's national heritage and intellectual excellence.

Organised under the anniversary theme, "From Excellence to Eminence: 75 Years of KNUST," the event seeks to promote critical thinking, healthy competition and collaboration among students while reflecting on the University's legacy since its establishment in 1951.

The competition will be contested in three rounds. The opening round will test participants' knowledge of KNUST's history, including its founding, milestones, leadership, traditions, academic programmes, research achievements and contributions to national development.

The second round will focus on Kwame Nkrumah and Ghana, challenging contestants on the life and vision of Ghana's first President, the country's independence history, governance, national symbols, geography and cultural heritage.

The final round will examine contestants' understanding of current affairs, covering developments in Ghana, Africa and the wider world, including science, technology, health, climate change, sports and international affairs.

Representing the University's six colleges are the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources (CANR), College of Art and Built Environment (CABE), College of Engineering (CoE), College of Health Sciences (CHS), College of Humanities and Social Sciences (CoHSS) and the College of Science (CoS).

The winning team will be crowned champions of the inaugural KNUST 75th Anniversary Inter-College Quiz Competition and receive the commemorative 75th Anniversary trophy.

The quiz forms part of a broader calendar of activities marking KNUST's Diamond Jubilee, highlighting the University's commitment to academic excellence, innovation and the pursuit of knowledge over the past 75 years.

University Management is inviting members of the KNUST community, alumni and the general public to attend the competition and support their respective colleges as they compete for top honours.
